Anna Jacobson recently wrote a nice update, highlighting the best FinTech podcasts out there, including:

Brett King's Breaking Banks podcast looks at the 'best of the best' in the emerging FinTech sector and documents how the loss of trust, rapid consumer behavior shifts, massive technological changes, and increasing government scrutiny are disrupting the banking industry.  I'm a regular co-host of the show and enjoy iut immensely.

I also co-host FinTech Insider where David Brear, Jason Bates, Simon Taylor and I regularly discuss the week in FinTech and interview key figures from startups, banking, regulators, and investors across the globe on what is going on in FinTech.

Exchanges at Goldman Sachs is a podcast in which people from across the firm share their insights on developments shaping markets, industries and the global economy.

Marketplace podcasts with the flagship Marketplace  and Marketplace Weekend

Recode Decode - Kara Swisher hosts interviews about the week in tech with influential business leaders and thought leaders from media, politics and more.

Unchained - Host Laura Shin talks with industry pioneers across tech, financial services, health care, government and other sectors about how the blockchain and FinTech will open up new opportunities for incumbents, startups and everyday people to interact more efficiently, directly and globally.

Planet Money - NPR's Planet Money helps you make sense of our rapidly changing global economy by highlighting high rollers, brainy economists and financial experts to keep you up to date on the fiscal world.

In Anna's update, she particularly highlighted the December 30th FinTech Insider where we talked about our "FinTech Predictions for 2017" with David Birch of Consult Hyperion and Ben Brabyn of Level39.

That show resulted in ten predictions for the coming year:

  1. Continued investigation of Blockchain use cases and how to make money with distributed ledger technologies.
  2. PSD II will be the biggest disappointment of 2017.
  3. US deregulation. Intense global pressure for US to open up their markets
  4. Payments move further away from banking. Meet the customer "where they are at". Payments embedded in chat, social, mobile, etc.
  5. Growth of digital, "challenger" banks. Enabled by Open API's.
  6. Surprise new entrants of traditionally non-financial players (i.e. telco, media, retailers) into financial services. Facebook?
  7. New business models/innovations coming out of emerging markets (i.e. Africa, India, and China) and influencing FinTech in US and Europe
  8. Shift from 'FinTech' toward 'RegTech'
  9. Focus on solving the identity problem in financial services
  10. 2017 will be the year of machine learning, deep learning, and artificial intelligence

Do you agree?

If you do, great.  If you don't, then here’s another list of FinTech forecasts from my friends Claudia and Julie at Bell Pottinger, who run the annual FinTech50 program.

2017 Will Be the Year of InsurTech

  1. Artificial Intelligence Will Take Hold
  2. An Atmosphere of Experimentation – Getting Braver with Blockchain
  3. 2017 Will Unleash the Power of Data and HyperPersonalisation
  4. FinTech Takes Off in High-growth Markets
  5. Start-ups and Incumbents Continue to Collaborate
  6. Creation of Customer-Centric Solutions
  7. FinTech Becomes Increasingly Integrated with Social Media
  8. FinTech is Changing Lives
  9. The Rapid Rise of RegTech
