No it's not the obvious answer, but it does make a good focal point for our next meeting of the Financial Services Club in London.
On 22nd April, we have a great debate about: "What's on a Treasurer's Mind?" with four significant practitioners in this space:
- Marcus Treacher, Head of e-Commerce, Global Transaction
- Magnus Lind, Chair of the European Treasurers'
- Peter Matza, Head of Publishing, Association of Corporate Treasurers; and
Jones, Business Leader at Bottomline Technologies and former Head of
Treasury for Hewlett-Packard Europe.
The panel will discuss key questions including whether financing has changed for good, thanks to the financial crisis, and whether treasury operations can become bank agnostic thanks to alternative financial markets and new Payments Institutions?
The evening will discuss everything that is top on the treasurer’s agenda, from external funding issues to internal unlocking of cash and the technologies corporates are using to become bank independent.
