What’s in an Oscars bag? (clue: an NFT)

I’ve always watched the Oscars and heard that the celebs get a bag of high value goodies worth lots, and wondered: what’s in the bag of goodies? So I was interested when I received a press release detailing what’s in an Oscars’ bag.

It came from Distinctive Assets, an LA-based entertainment marketing company, highlighting that they are giving away a non-fungible token (NFT) piece of art this year.

AdVenture Media and Taillard Capital will be dropping an NFT (Non Fungible Token) into each nominee’s  gift bag. Each NFT authenticates an exclusive digital artwork to be auctioned on the crypto-blockchain, which will also benefit a charity of the nominee’s choosing. Nominees must declare a charity before auction proceeds can be distributed.

I just wonder whether Anthony Hopkins, Olivia Colman, Amanda Seyfried, Sacha Baron Cohen, Riz Ahmed, Viola Davis, Andra Day and Carey Mulligan will know what that is? I guess their PA will find out or, if needed, SNL explains it well ….

Anyways, just to celebrate the Oscars day, here’s what’s in the bag:

The “Everyone Wins” Nominee Gift Bags are independently produced by Distinctive Assets and delivered to nominees in the Best Actor and Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Actress and Best Director categories. According to Distinctive Assets founder and noted gift expert Lash Fary:

“While this gift bag does, as always, have an impressive six-figure value, that is neither our focus nor goal. A great gift has nothing to do with a price tag, This year’s ‘Everyone Wins’ gift bag is one of my favourites we have ever assembled because it represents a lot more than just a bag full of free stuff.”

Yea … and pigs might …

Anyways, if any of the above tickles your fancy, this doc gives you full detail.
