I hid this link
in my blog about the Abbey, but had to draw out this survey in more
depth. According to the BBC's Mintel survey of over 13,000 Brits,
57.5% are very satisfied or satisfied with their bank. Mind you, that
does mean that 42.1% are disatisfied or very disatisfied.
Nevertheless,
80% have stayed with their bank for more than five years even though
over 40% think the service has got worse or much worse over this time.
The
majority give the reason for not changing being that they do not
believe they will get a better service anywhere else, and half the
viewers say that resolving problems with the bank is not easy.
The bit I can't believe is that half of these voters would recommend their bank to others.
Fascinating
stuff. Reminds me of the old joke about the British Airways flight
landing in Sydney, and you could hear whining for hours after the
engines shut down.
