Later this month, I am due to make a presentation on: "Recent and proposed
changes in Europe in clearing and settlement for the equity and exchange traded
derivative worlds".
It’s all to do with clearing and settlement developments, in light of the
announcement of Rainbow, a new derivatives exchange similar to Turquoise, and
the new exchanges of Europe.
It’s also in light of the range of roles and structural changes in Europe as
a result of the launch of new clearing operations, such as those of the Euro CCP
by the DTCC.
How does this impact central counterparties (CCPs) and central securities
depositories (CSDs)?
What are the likely outcomes?
Are Giovannini’s barriers finally coming down?
