For quite a while now, MasterCard has been issuing a Diamond MasterCard.
Yes, it is a MasterCard and yes, it has real diamonds in it. This one came out in the Spring in Dubai, and yes, that is real gold too.
What benefits does the card deliver?
According to the Diamond and Gemstone Gallery, "all transactions will be processed regardless of their
size and amount of available credit. Second, holders will have
preferential access to the Burj Al Arab hotel, special yacht charter
deals in Dubai and around the world and will also have a personal
relationship manager to meet all their financial and lifestyle needs.
Luverly-jubbly.
So why am I blogging about this in November, when it came out in March?
Because lots of other banks have picked up on the idea, with the latest being Kazakhstan.
According to the Financial Times, the diamond-studded card will be issued by Kazkommertsbank and has a limit of $50,000, $20,000 more than the highest limit available today.
Me must get one because iss very nice!
