Tuesday felt like seven days in one and so it is no wonder that I find myself awake when I should be asleep and asleep when I should be awake ... or is that just the time zone or the drink, one asks?
So now it's Wednesday and day three of SIBOS. A few more meets before plenaries and innotribe, so another jam-packed fun day.
Last night was good though.
A wonderful cocktail reception on the 25th floor of the Prince's Building overlooking the harbour.
On a balmy summer's evening, this would be excellent.
On a tempestuous typhoon-fuelled Autumn night, it was just wet.
That didn't stop the company and the conversation from being good though, and it was.
I had various intriguing chats and the best had to be with one of the bankers who was telling me that there's quite a few corporates at SIBOS this year** and the conversation is different.
Two years ago, the conversation would have been the banker asking the corporate to show their balance sheet, credit history and audit and accounting details before the corporate could do business with the bank. This year, it's the other way round.
Lovely ...
**according to Joy MacKnight at GT News, the two-day corporate forum at SIBOS has attracted 490 participants, 122 of which are corporates, with 183 vendors and 185 financial institutions.
