As mentioned last week, one of my clients has asked me to present a vision of banking in 2035.
That’s a long way out.
To put it in context, I would have to jump back in time to 1993 to think about banking in 2014.
In 1993, we didn’t have much idea about the future.
This is demonstrated pretty well by this 1993 news report on the future of the net.
We didn’t know about the internet of things, mass mobile, the consumerisation of technology and the whole digital transformation of society.
Or did we?
You would be surprised.
Here’s the series of ads that AT&T ran in 1993-94 with voice over by Tom Selleck.
The series was called You will, and had everything in it from video calls to chips in cars for auto tolls to using your phone to manage your heating and lighting in your smart home.
These are all things that are now materialising as reality, but they were seen long ago.
So, in preparing for my 2035 vision I am looking for help.
Here are a few visions that seem to be out there.
Do you know of any more?
