Shaping the future of finance

When you have an AI twin, what are you doing?

I just wrote something that was pretty ambiguous when a friend asked what my latest speech is all about. The answer? “Becoming an AI-native bank – digital is so last century – and digital trust in a deep fake world (digital ID)”. The answer is accurate, but I just wrote off digital and then talked digital. Obvs, they overlap, but the real answer should have been “becoming an AI-native bank with AI-native IDs to ensure AI fraud is avoided” … or something like that. But is that too many AIs in one sentence?

The real point is that we have tried to be digital and do digital for almost two decades and now, in the mid-2020s, we have been there and done that. It is time to move on. We are now becoming AI native. Digital is done.

In this context, let’s take deep fake and AI scams. Lot’s of people are losing lots of money to connections who aren’t real. How to stop them? Well, the bots have to beat the bots. Your AI twin needs to work out if the AI contact is trusted or not. This is where the next wave of innovation will happen.

More than this, your AI bot will work out what is relevant for you and whether it can be trusted. This means that it will not be banks or Amazon that sells you products and services, but the bank’s bot and Amazon’s bots that sell to your bot, your digital twin or, more correctly, your AI twin.

In other words, a whole other world opens. It is using digital platforms and network connectivity but, through robotic intelligence, acting as a completely alternative world to our own. There will be occasions where you will just click or swipe to see what your bot has been up to. What has it purchased? Who is it talking to? Why did it do that? How did it do that?

A bit like looking at your child, your AI twin will be reflecting your personality and tastes, and the more you trust it, the more it does. Eventually, you just spend time in the real world – la-di-da – and your bot does everything else.

  • Working today? Oh, the bot can write the blog.
  • Need to travel? The bot will book.
  • Want some answers? Just ask your glasses (or watch or pants).

All done in your way, your style, in real-time.

The question then looms large, like the elephant in the room, as to what are you doing in the real world? If your AI twin can do everything for you, what are you doing?
