The Bankers' Battalion was a "Pals Battalion" formed during World War I, where men from the banking community were allowed to enlist and serve together. The 2,700 men of the battalion trained and proceeded to France in May 1916. Their first battle on the Somme in September 1916, saw over 260 men were killed, wounded, or missing. They were so brave and we need to remember them ...
