The Top Bank Ads of 2009

Various sites rate banking ads in different ways.  Here are a few of my favourites this year.

Probaby the one that garnered most attention from a traditional bank is this one from Barclays:

... immensely popular for some reason.  

However, most ads have been from mutuals and credit unions, having a cheap shot at the banks for obvious reasons. For example, here's a good one:

Then there's the ad series that gets all the plaudits. The series was created for the launch of Ally Bank, a division of GMAC, in the USA and uses children to illustrate the ridiculous terms that banks sometimes impose.

My favourite of these style of ads this year has to be this one from Associated Credit Union however:

Oink, oink!

Finally, there are the more "in your face" ads which was clearly won by this Aussie one from Virgin Money:

I just hope I'm as interested when I get to be that mature.
