Slurls: what are they?

My second book of reading for the holidays is "Slurls: They Called
Their Website What?!"
by Andy Geldman.

This is a collection of the weird and wonderful names firms gave their websites.

In reality, these names reflect their company well.  Online, they kinda fail because we forget that the name on the sign may translate into something different on a web without spaces.

Case in point: I Love Big Al's Bowling Alley ... ilovebigals.com

Here's a few more faves:

  • Les Bocages, tree surgeons in France (Bocages is French for Grove) ... lesbocages.com

  • Mole Station Nursery ... molestationnursery.com

  • American Scrap Metal ... americanscrapmetal.com

  • Powergen Italy ... powergenitalia.com

  • Pen Island ... penisland.net

  • La Drape laundery business ... ladrape.com

  • Californian list of analysts, psychotherapists and more ... therapistfinder.com

  • Choose Spain for holiday villas ... choosepain.com

  • Pet fashion and hair styling ... doggiestyle.com

  • Music hits and MP3 downloads ... mp3shits.com
