Shaping the future of finance

Diary of a Ponzi Scheme and it’s all about tokenisation

I've just launched another new book! After the successful launch of Intelligent Bank with Huawei a few weeks ago I had, in the meantime, developed another book: Diary of a Ponzi SchemeThe scheme is all about Clint who creates a "Token Fund". Investing in digital currencies and real world asset tokens, he suckers friends, contacts and his network into a billion dollar fraud.

It's my first attempt to mix fact, fintech and fiction, and it's fun. Here is the outline:

Diary of a Ponzi Scheme: A Story Based Upon Token Money, Token Love and Token Lies

What begins as ambition slowly mutates into deception in this razor-sharp financial thriller from Chris Skinner.

Clint Davidson is brilliant, charismatic, and dangerously convincing. He understands one thing better than anyone around him: people want to believe. They want easy wealth, exclusive access, insider opportunities, and the thrill of being early to the next financial revolution. Clint gives them exactly that.

Wrapped in the seductive language of cryptocurrency, blockchain innovation, elite finance, and digital assets, his investment empire grows at terrifying speed. Billionaires, politicians, celebrities, royalty, venture capitalists, and desperate dreamers all circle the same illusion, each convinced they are too intelligent to be fooled.

At the centre of it all is Rebecca Hawkins, whose love for Clint blinds her to the cracks forming beneath the surface. As money floods in and the web of lies flows out, relationships become transactions, loyalty becomes leverage, and trust becomes the most valuable currency of all.

But every Ponzi scheme eventually reaches the same moment. The moment when people stop believing and see the reality.

Blending satire, finance, technology, dark humour, romance and psychological tension, Diary of a Ponzi Scheme delivers a clever, unsettling, and sharply contemporary novel where every conversation is a negotiation, every relationship hides another agenda, and every lie demands a larger one to survive … because the most dangerous scams are never built on money alone. They are built on trust, belief ... and lies.

Meantime, if you haven't already got it, Intelligent Bank is still riding high in the charts. Launched with Huawei in Shanghai on May 25th, what is Intelligent Bank about?

For years, the industry spoke about “digital transformation” as if moving from paper to apps was the endgame. It wasn’t. What Chris Skinner explores here is what comes next: the emergence of the  Intelligent Bank. Not simply smarter products or faster channels, but something deeper - systems that learn, adapt, and make decisions with context. The AI-native financial institution.
